Attendance

What is the attendance policy?

Regular attendance is essential to a dancer's progress and to the group's preparation for performances. Please make every effort to arrive on time and attend all scheduled classes. If a dancer must miss class, notify the studio in advance whenever possible.

Can I make up a missed class?

Yes. Missed classes may be made up in a comparable class within the same session, space permitting. Please arrange make-ups with the front office so we can confirm the right level and time.

What about lateness?

Dancers who arrive late miss the warm-up, which is important for safety. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the instructor may ask the dancer to observe for their own protection.

Tuition & Payment

How is tuition billed?

Tuition is based on the full season and divided into equal monthly installments for convenience. Monthly payments are the same regardless of the number of weeks in a given month.

When are payments due?

Tuition is due on the first of each month. A late fee may be applied to balances unpaid after the tenth. Registration fees and costume fees are separate from monthly tuition.

What is the refund and withdrawal policy?

Registration fees are non-refundable. To withdraw from a class, written notice must be given to the office; you are responsible for tuition through the end of the notice period. Costume fees are non-refundable once ordered.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept most major credit cards, checks, and cash. Auto-pay is available and encouraged to keep accounts current. Contact the office at 973 · 839 · 4031 to set up automatic payments.

Dress Code

What should dancers wear?

Dress code varies by discipline and level. In general, ballet requires a leotard, tights, and proper ballet shoes with hair secured in a bun. Jazz, tap, contemporary, and hip-hop have their own footwear and attire requirements shared at registration.

How should hair be worn?

Hair should be pulled back and secured away from the face for every class — a bun for ballet, and a neat ponytail or bun for other styles. This keeps dancers safe and focused.

Where can I buy the right shoes and attire?

The office can point you to recommended local and online retailers for each discipline. Please label all shoes and dancewear with your dancer's name.

Weather & Closures

What happens when there is bad weather?

In the event of inclement weather, closures are posted on our studio communications and social media as early as possible. When in doubt, call the studio before heading out.

Are weather-cancelled classes made up?

The season schedule builds in flexibility for occasional weather closures. When multiple classes are missed, we will schedule make-ups or adjust the calendar and notify families directly.

Studio Conduct & Safety

What is expected in the studio?

We ask dancers and families to treat instructors, staff, and one another with respect and kindness. Food, gum, and street shoes are not permitted on the dance floor. Please silence phones during class.

What is the drop-off and pick-up policy?

Please arrive on time for pick-up. Younger dancers should be walked in and picked up promptly by an authorized adult. Let the office know of any changes to who is permitted to collect your dancer.

Can parents watch class?

To help dancers stay focused, class is generally closed to observation, with designated observation weeks scheduled throughout the year. Watch for announcements about these dates.
